Everyone at our practice is committed to providing you with the very best in pet healthcare. Our devotion and dedication to caring for animals is evident in and outside of work and so our veterinary team bring a wealth of experience to the practice. They have individually obtained high standards of professional qualifications making them all best placed to contribute to the Braemar Veterinary standard we pride ourselves in delivering.

Dr Shane Murray VS BVMS MRCVS

Owner of the Practice - Shane qualified from Glasgow University as a vet in 1997. He opened the doors of Braemar Veterinary Clinic in September 2005. He has practiced in England and Australia and thoroughly enjoys the thrills and challenges that come with running a veterinary practice. In his spare time, of which he doesn’t have much, he takes pleasure in the odd game of golf, reading, and jogging. He has a cat called Sue who resides at the clinic and keeps an eye on things.

Dr Aoife Morrow VS BVMS MRC

Aoife graduated from Liverpool in 2014. She came back to work in Northern Ireland initially beginning in a mixed practice but then focusing on small animals. Aoife joined us at Braemar in January 2018. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice but has a particular interest in dermatology and medicine and is in the process of completing a small animal medicine certificate in dermatology. In her spare-time she enjoys traveling and going to gigs.  Aoife’s totally smitten by her rescue cat Louis who seems to be living the cat dream!

Dr Miriam Nolan VS BVMS MRC

Miriam’s originally from County Mayo and after graduating from University college Dublin in 2013 she went to work in Magherafelt in a mixed animal practice before joining us here at Braemar in 2018. Working with companion animals such as dogs and cats is what Miriam really loves and she has a keen interest in surgery. In her spare-time she plays competitive volleyball and loves travelling.  When she comes home each day she’s greeted by her Labrador Cassie, her Fox Terrier Terry and little cat Pixie.

Dr Dermot McInerney VS BVMS MRC

We have really great owners at Braemar who look after their pets very well, and when we needed to expand our team of vet’s we were lucky to find Dermot who joined us in March 2019.  Dermot trained in Bristol and had been working in a large practice in Surrey before he returned home and came to us at Braemar.  In his spare time he plays competitive soccer and has a lively Cocker Spaniel called Charley to keep him on his toes.

Judith Evans Practice Manager

Judith came to the Practice in 2013 following many years working in the health industry and a lifetime shared with animals. The opportunity to work in a veterinary practice fits well with her passion for all things four legged!  She shares her home with a small menagerie of children, horses, dogs and cats and comes to work for a rest!

Sue Administrator

Advances in veterinary medicine have made huge differences to the lives of our pets and Pet Insurance allows us to affordably give our pets the best treatments available. Assisted by her background in veterinary nursing Sue works with your chosen provider processing claims and leaving the vets and Nurses to get on with what they do best, caring for animals.  When Sue gets home a range of all creatures great and small from horses to guinea pigs means that she’s seldom bored!

Roisin Registered Veterinary Nurse

Dog loving lady Roisin, qualified as a Veterinary Nurse at Greenmount College and has worked in veterinary practices in England and Northern Ireland she is the owner of doggies, Cara, Scrappy and Specs.  Roisin is one of our Clinical coaches and supports our less experienced members of staff with their training.  We all hugely admire her for her skills managing and handling dogs and is our go to person for a K9 Conundrum

Rebecca Registered Veterinary Nurse

Rebecca joined the practice in 2016 and is a great addition to our team bringing both experience and great nursing skills, she is dedicated to her career and keen to expand her knowledge.  In her role as a Clinical coach she supports our student nurses with their training.  Like all veterinary nurses she has gathered her own little bunch of rescued pets including her dogs Kayos and Sweep, cats Rory and Tomboy and ferrets CJ and Archie – looking after this bunch should keep her fit enough but on top of this she even finds time for the gym!

Gina  Student Nurse

Gina has just finished her second year of student Nurse training and is well on her way to completing her Nursing Qualification. Combining her studies with busy shifts at Braemar is giving her all the experience and hands on learning she needs to complete her Nursing qualification.  At home she has a cat called Smokey and a very cute Jack Russell called Judy, at the weekend Gina is a horse racing fan and likes to attend the racing meets around the country.

Leanne Student Nurse

Braemar Veterinary clinic is a registered Royal College of Veterinary Training Practice and it’s great to be able to work with students and support them as they progress and take their Royal college exams.  Leanne is beginning her final year of study.  Student Nurses have very little spare time for anything but work and study but when she needs to slow things down she has her mate Phil who should know how to take things easy, he’s a giant African Land snail!!... and for days on the sofa there’s her cat Shaddix.

Bryony Student Nurse

Bryony’s degree is in design and she is a talented and creative baker, keeping us all sweet with tempting cakes and pastries, but her love of animals has set her down another path to train as a Veterinary Nurse and she is one of our training students.  She loves all the different breeds that come in to Braemar but we all know she has a very soft spot for Dashounds.

Natalie Student Nurse

Natalie came to Braemar as a work experience pupil from college, and she says she was determind to return as a Veterinary Nurse one day and we’re very glad she did.  She’s a very dedicated and committed Veterinary student Nurse who loves her job, she’s rarely without a smile.   Once she’s home and putting her feet up she has Tabitha cat for company.

Rachael Receptionist

With a career in administration it’s no surprise that Rachael is good at her job running a busy reception desk, she seems to know lots of our patients by name and is just as likely to be found in front of the desk shaking paws and giving treats as behind the desk.  Her soft spot for everything that barks, purrs, cheaps and squeaks means that Rachael’s just as busy at home as she is in work!

Rachel Receptionist
Rachel joined the practice in 2013 after she returned to live in Northern Ireland, she had previously been working in the hotel industry and then a busy mixed practice in Cheshire and so brings lots of valuable experience to her role within the clinic.  Now a Mummy Rachel splits her spare time between her daughter Betsie and son Felix and her two cats Ebony and Moe.

Beth Assistant Veterinary Nurse

Every organisation should have a cat woman and Beth is ours.  The cats who come for sleepovers in the Braemar cattery love her as she caters to their every whim.  Behind the scenes she’s an Award- Winning Auxiliary Nurse picking up the prestigious honour in 2018 at the Northern Ireland Veterinary Nursing Awards.  Beth is a very dedicated member of the team working quietly behind the scenes supporting the Vets and Nurses.  She loves her dogs Boe and Jessie and is an avid fan of music and film.

Sue the Cat Practice Enforcer

The lovely Sue is everyone’s pal in the staff room, especially if there’s a tuna sandwich on the go!  One of the most senior members of the Braemar team she likes to keep an eye on everyone and carries out unannounced quality control checks on the office chairs.  She never misses a staff meeting during which she seems to spend a lot of time power napping on Beth’s Knee
