Avocet is one of our luxury 5* eco-cottages, featuring exposed and original wooden roof trusses combined with a stylish modern interior. The spacious lving area is flooded with natural daylight and glazed doors lead onto a private terrace perfect for alfresco dining. This terrace is fenced and gated, giving an added level of privacy for families. This patio leads out onto a large gated paddock with play equipment.
With solid travertine tiled floors throughout and underfloor heating, the cottage is cosy in winter and cool in the summer. There is a luxury bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with luxury ensuite and TV with freeview.
The second double bedroom has a zip & link bed giving additional flexibility on beds (for older children or friends – just let us know in advance) and the third bedroom is a twin. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the mod-cons needed on a family self-catering holiday with granite worktops, a fridge freezer, washing machine and an espresso machine for the discerning coffee drinker.
If you are looking for a large family cottage, Avocet communicates with next door Garden House through a boot lobby to provide spacious accommodation for 12 (3 double bedrooms in each cottage) plus travel cots with a large dining area.
All cottages have fantastic views eastwards offering magnificent sunsets over the 170 acres of sweeping farmland and gardens belonging to Home Farm. It also has a private fenced terrace where you can enjoy the sunshine and have BBQs in the summer.
The new holiday homes at Cranmer Cottages have been designed with attention to sustainable eco credentials, maximising alternative energy sources. They have eco-friendly under floor heating throughout and hot water and space heating are supplemented by solar, wind power and a ground source heat pump. The buildings themselves are highly insulated keeping them warm and at the same time cutting down on carbon emissions.
