Founded in 1972, the Club is located in the village of Lowdham. We are a friendly lawn bowls club, open to both men and women of all ages and are always ready to welcome new members. If you are interested in joining us please give our Secretary Mike a call on 0115 8411559.
The green is situated behind Lowdham Village Hall on Main Street, Lowdham, opposite the Old Ship Inn.
The season runs from mid-April until mid-September and during the season there is a full programme available for all.
For beginners, at the start of the season, we offer a free 4 week “Introduction to Bowls” coaching course led by our own Level 1 coach. Further details of this will be available on this website just before the start of the 2018 season.
The regular “roll up” sessions on Monday afternoons give beginners the opportunity to meet and play with other club members in a relaxed informal manner.
There is also a programme of friendly matches available plus ladies matches.
For the more competitive bowler the club has teams in 5 leagues plus club, county and league competitions. It was a good year for our teams in the 2017 season with the Trent Valley League team winning the league and cup double, the Saturday League team winning the league and the LCBC team being promoted from Division 2, following relegation the previous year (albeit by ½ point).
One of the highlights of the season is our club Gala Day involving various games played in informal dress (colour themed).
Throughout the year there are a variety of social events including the Presentation Evening, Quiz Night, Games Evening, Coffee Evening.
The annual membership fee is £50
