James started his architectural studies at Ulster University, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Two years of placement followed working on site as a project manager. In 2015 he began his master’s degree in Architecture at Queen’s University, Belfast where he graduated in 2017 with a commendation. At Queens James developed an interest in the relationship between the built and natural environment that went on to inspire his dissertation and thesis work.

James joined KnoxClayton in January of 2018, working on projects across a range of sectors, including a number of one-off, modern, bespoke residential properties.  More recently he has worked on larger scale public sector projects and Northern Ireland’s first ever pre-fabricated social housing scheme.
